Known Nigeria Agrees Purchase of JF-17 Pakistan

The news was announced by a senior official of the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) to IHS Jane during the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) South Africa 14 to 18 September.

The official declined to say how much JF-17 is akakn booked Nigeria, but said the announcement was expected during IDEAS event to be held in Karachi in November.

He also refused to confirm that Nigeria will be the operator of the first export of JF-17 because Myanmar is also likely to order the plane from China.

Nigeria intention to acquire fighter was revealed in federal budget documents released in January, which provides funds NGN5 billion (US $ 25 million) for the three JF-17 and NGN2.06 billion to 10 basic trainer Mushshak Super PAC.

DEPO officials said that discussions are still ongoing with the Nigerian Air Force and the Army's new flight wings on the acquisition of Super Mushshak coach.
